Fair
Gilbert went to the plant and worked all day. I went to Sunday School and church and we went to Mama’s for dinner and supper, Gilbert coming out in the evening and bringing us home. The boys nearly drove Grandma crazy – Never again!
(I didn't think anyone worked on Sundays in the 1920's. I always thought they were more serious about keeping Sunday as a day of rest.)

I wonder what she means by "never again"?
ReplyDeleteFrom all I have read, I am certain these boys did not just sit, with their hands folded, when they visited others' homes. That may have not gone over well with Ruth's mother. She seemed to expect quiet deportment..
