Word came this morning that Uncle John died last night, suddenly without a minute’s warning. He felt the same as usual, worked, came home to his new house he had been in only two weeks, went to bed and died!
(Uncle John was John Jordan, Grandma Campbell's brother. I assume he lived in or around Gibson City, Illinois where they had a farm.)

That must have been a shock. Ruth's uncle John shows up on the State of Illinois death index - no details, just the name John H Jordon, M/W, # 2570067, died February 9, 1927, MCLean County, registered in Bloomington on Feb 11, 1927.
