Got some raspberries and canned a few and made some jelly. With ironing, etc. I was pretty busy. Mama wants me to come over one day but I don’t see how I can. I just must go down town one day my shoes hurt my feet so I go around bare footed half the time.
(Grandma had a busy day. I wonder where she got the raspberries? I know she has written about "Smith the Vegetable Man" who went door to door selling vegetables, I think.)

I wonder why her shoes always seem to hurt her feet. Did her feet swell? Were the shoes too small? I know she hurt her foot a while back but she seems to always have this problem with shoes. Or maybe they were just uncomfortable, but stylish shoes.
ReplyDeleteGrandma had bunions, but did she have them at this point? If she did, that could be why her feet hurt, the shoes were too narrow.

I think she had inherited bad feet. In later life she had hammertoes & had had surgery on one of them. I think back then there weren't many choices in shoe styles, or it seemed like she wore the same kind all the time. Today she could have gone to a foot doctor as I know there are many ways to correct the kind of feet she had
