Got a good early start and went to Mama’s. Papa had saved all the dishes since Tuesday as he has to do all the work out there and doesn’t like the job. Mama is doing fine doesn’t feel so bad except her hands are both crippled now, one with rheumatism and the other swollen from her fall.

(I don't know why, but I found it humorous that my great-grandfather (Papa) didn't like to wash dishes, so left them for Grandma to do.)

  1. Just like a man, isn't it. "I hate that job so even tho you can't do it, I'm not doing it either". Today I would just use paper plates in that kind of situation, but back then I doubt if they had them. Anyway, some one came along & washed the dishes.

  2. I once took a picture of my husband (now ex) sweeping the floor. I told him I needed to record the moment because I didn't know if it would ever happen again. So I guess it's a male thing. I hate doing dishes too, but somebody's got to do them.

  3. Wow. I can't believe someone would actually have the nerve to leave the dishes for someone else like that. Unbelievable.

  4. So, both of her hands are crippled and he still leaves all the dishes for her?!?!? Sounds like something my grandfather would have done!
