Easter. The folks came out for dinner and Papa pronounced our ailment “pink eye” all right. Our eye salve was the best thing for it. I’ve heard of other cases that were pretty serious.
(Easter. I wonder if they had an egg hunt for the boys, if they had any special foods they cooked for Easter dinner? Did the boys get Easter baskets?)

We always had this special braided cake my Great-Grandmother made that whole eggs baked in it. With the shell still on them!! It was interesting to look, but not too pleasant to eat.
ReplyDeletei don't know what the boys got for easter. But when I was little I got dyed eggs & jelly beans. I don't really remember getting much more in the way of candy. I do memember getting a new dress, maybe a hat & shoes. But new clothes came around a holliday & that would be my good dress till I outgrew it. We didn't go out & buy clothes escept for special holidays. The rest of the time we wore home made stuff
