Cool and rainy
Built another fire
(It must have been quite a bit of work to heat a house with a coal furnace. I assume that's the fire they built because they didn't have any fireplaces in the house. It must have gotten very cold for them to build another fire in the furnace.)

I turned on my heat for just a little while yesterday. But all I had to do was flip a switch. This kind of weather I'm always switching from heat to cool. Too bad they didn't have that technology back then. Life would have been a lot easier, and cleaner
ReplyDeleteMay was a chancy month in the Chicago area, too - I can remember needing heavy hooded sweatshirts for some Memorial Day picnics. And then wearing sundresses the next Memorial Day weekend. You're right Eleanor - with such changeable weather, people should appreciate that technology!
