Cool and rainy

Built another fire

(It must have been quite a bit of work to heat a house with a coal furnace. I assume that's the fire they built because they didn't have any fireplaces in the house. It must have gotten very cold for them to build another fire in the furnace.)

  1. I turned on my heat for just a little while yesterday. But all I had to do was flip a switch. This kind of weather I'm always switching from heat to cool. Too bad they didn't have that technology back then. Life would have been a lot easier, and cleaner

  2. May was a chancy month in the Chicago area, too - I can remember needing heavy hooded sweatshirts for some Memorial Day picnics. And then wearing sundresses the next Memorial Day weekend. You're right Eleanor - with such changeable weather, people should appreciate that technology!
